How do I calculate my cut lengths for the different framing systems?

Calculating the cut length on extrusions is most commonly done by deducting the exposed portion of the corner joints from the overall desired outside dimensions or you box. For example: Let’s use the box below calculate extrusion cut lengths based on using Modular Framing’s Standard 150-45 System.

For the length dimension: 124 – (2 x 2.76) = 118.48

For the height dimension: 86 – (2 x 2.76) = 80.48

For the width dimension: 72 – (2 x 2.76) = 66.48

** The size of corner joints varies by system, but the formula will be the same **

** Full length intermediate supports will be the same length as the corner profiles for most systems**
